Concrete Research Laboratory Equipment
The Concrete Research Laboratory at the University of Arkansas is located at the Grady Harvell Civil Engineering Center. The Harvell Lab is a brand-new civil engineering facility (construction completed in summer 2021) located on the south research campus at the University of Arkansas.
The Harvell Civil Engineering Center includes a 20,000 sq. ft. high-bay structural testing area with a 25 ton overhead crane and a 100 ft. by 40 ft. strong floor. The strong floor has tie down points at 4 ft. on centers capable of 240 kips of axial reaction force and 220 kips of shear reaction force each. Built-in hydraulic lines connect an MTS SilentFlo 515 hydraulic power unit to two hydraulic service manifolds adjacent to the strong floor allowing multiple servo-hydraulic actuators to run simultaneously.
